Reflecting on a great year of regenerative farming

What a year. All I can say is thank you! Thank you for allowing us to help feed your families with the best the Midwest has to offer. For allowing us to build our corner of the planet for the good of all. And for allowing us to give our animals the best life!

In some ways it feels like we have been busier than ever. Other ways I feel we have learned how to better take a step back and relax. Either way, between you, our supporters, and us here at the farm, it has been our biggest year yet! We accomplished a lot and are taking more steps toward our farm's independence.

As a farm, we do not have any wholesale accounts. Our main focus is selling directly to you! That means we need to be able to reach more customers than we can just through the farmers' market. Traveling to the market each week doesn't work for everybody.

As such, the most notable farm accomplishment this year was the launch of our shipping program through the online store. This has given many of you access to nutrient-dense farm meats raised in an ethical way that supports the environment.

Being able to ship is one step on the path to our farm becoming sustainable financially. We talk a lot about sustainability in the environment. Also very important is our farm business being in a situation that it can continue to serve you and the environment.

We have also brought in some more partners to diversify the products available through the online store. We want you to be able to have a one-stop shop for all your meat needs.

We still have a way to go. I am still currently working a full-time job off the farm as an ER nurse. Together, I am confident we can accomplish our goals of full-time food production. With your continued help and dedication, our family can become full-time farmers. For you, for the community and for the earth.

Why you should pay more for meat

It is common to hear complaints of rising grocery prices. People are concerned. They worry and feel out of control. Out of control of rising prices. Fearful of what is in the food when they do buy it. Terrified that they may lose access all together. There is a reason for this and it did not happen overnight. Consumer's fears are valid. But there is a fix. It is on our hands. We need to take back control.

Sharing the Farm with Wildlife

The pastures where we raise our livestock are not only home to our animals. They are frequented by the local wildlife population. Deer, turkey, foxes, and rabbits are among the many varieties that call our farm home. But it's not just because they live there that they frequent our pastures. Read on to learn how we actually design the way we farm to welcome the existence of a healthy, local, wildlife population.
