Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
Impressive and easy to cook, this Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon recipe is a delicious way to prepare King Salmon. The fish steams gently and picks up the woodsy flavor of the cedar, plus the smokiness of the grill.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Soak a cedar plank. Place the plank in water for at least one hour. Two hours if you have the time. Some people even soak their planks in wine to impart some extra flavor.
  2. Prepare a glaze. We enjoy using this Hoisin-Mustard Glaze from Weber Grills.
  3. Preheat your gas or charcoal grill. The temperature should be a medium heat of 350°F.
  4. Place the soaked plank on the grill. Lay it directly over the heat and close the lid. If you're using more than one plank, leave a little space between the planks.
  5. Prepare the salmon. Season with salt and pepper to taste. And coat with the glaze.
  6. Place the salmon on the planks. When the grill is hot and the wood is smoking, place each salmon portion skin-side down on the planks. Close the lid or cover the grill.
  7. Cook until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 125° - 130°F. This usually takes about 12 - 15 minutes.
  8. Transfer the salmon to a cutting board or serving platter using a spatula.
  9. Serve and enjoy with your favorite grilled vegetables or sides.
